Energy Smart

ENERGY SMART OPTIONS

With our impressive hybrid heating technology, you can have the best of both worlds and reduce your spa running costs and greenhouse emissions, without compromising on performance or your experience. Everyone has different needs depending on their home & lifestyle. We know that our spas are already cost effective to run without additions. However we also understand that with the rising energy costs and the need to look at other energy efficient solutions to suit varied installations worldwide.

Our brand was the first to introduce Hybrid Spa technology into Australia, we selected the highest quality components and the most advance solutions. We Guarantee that your  spa will not only be cost effective to run, but it also fits in with your home and lifestyle.

All our models are available in:

  • Portable with electric Heating
  • Portable Electric Hybrid with Gas or Heat Pump
  • In ground Electric Hybrid with Gas Heater or Heat Pump
  • In ground with Gas Heater or Heat Pump
  • Circulation pumps available on all models

Gas Hybrid – recommended for all areas

Gas heating is much faster than electric heating and the most efficient and effective way to heat your spa. The Gas Hybrid combines the best  electric heating technology with the benefits of gas. This combination provides you with the best of both worlds, without the limitations. Older type heating methods combined with other factors such as poor insulation and running un-necessary long filtration cycles can lead to the  heater and pump working longer and harder. This can be costly and an inefficient way of heating your spa.

With a full gas only heating system, technology associated with your spa can be lost and adjustments may have to be made externally to allow for large heating equipment, pumps and pipe work. However, the Gas Hybrid provides you with the full technology that an electric spa can offer as well as the cost effectiveness of a gas spa. By using a bypass into a gas heater, the Gas Hybrid is so efficient to run that it can cut your running costs by up to 65%* without compromising on functionality or performance.

The Gas Hybrid requires a direct Gas connection and a 10amp plug for installation.  The Gas packs are available for LPG Bottled Gas and also Natural Gas, these must be fitted by a qualified gas plumber.

Heat Pump Hybrid  - recommended for warmer areas

Save up to 80%* in Running cost with a  Heat & Cooling Pump. Heat pump heating is slower than gas however this can be more economical way to heat your spa in the warmer areas. The Heat Pump Hybrid works very similar to solar best in dry hot climates or humid warm climates however it can work as a handy back up in the cooler climates, still cutting down your running cost however, not as effective in heating. This combination provides you with the ultimate heat boost in your spa. The Heat Pump only needs a 10amp power connection and had the capability to heat or cool your spa.

In ground Hybrids

Traditionally in grounds run on 100% Gas Heating with electric supply only for pumps blowers etc…. With the in ground gas technology not previously allowing for complicated filtration cycles and operation we have now introduced the in ground Hybrid. With all the electrical capabilities including heating & components of a portable spa including controllers there is no more need for annoying air buttons that get blocked and having to go to get out of the spa to operated some spa functions. By attaching this system undercover to your in ground installation with a gas heater you can have the best of both worlds.

Energy Smart – standard features .

  • Hard Cover – Make sure your spa has a thick High Density hard cover to hold the heat in the spa when not in use.
  • Insulation - When looking at spas make sure the insulation is closed cell and directly on the shell, if there is further insulation on the pipe work & inside the cabinet then the energy efficiency will be a lot greater.
  • Programmable 2 speed pump filtration – Don’t be fooled, you can choose to have a cost efficient 2 speed pump only filtering at specific times in the day. The 2 speed pump has a larger impeller than a circulation pump turning the water over a lot quicker. Being programmable, you can set the 2 speed pump to run for only a few hours a day.
  • Circulation Pump The most cost effective option for filtering is a low watt circulation pump.  It is important when looking at circulation pumps that you choose one that is programmable and also gives you the option of 100% filtration.
  • Controllers – Controllers are the brains to your spa,  make it is programmable, this will allow you to optimise off peak heating & filtration times using settings & economy modes. The Gecko controllers have a water temperature algorithm monitoring system. These are intelligent controls that that calculate the optimal time to start pumps and get the water temperature readings  continuously adjusting the heater start times. This ensures your heater is always operating at its most efficient level at all times. The Gecko controllers are a perfect match combined with a Hybrid keeping your spa cost effective.
  • Electric Heater Sizes – Keep in mind that the electric heater size does not make any difference to the cost of heating your spa. However it does make a difference in time to heat. A smaller heater will take a little longer lower energy consumption and obviously the bigger heater shorter time to heat but larger energy consumption the costs are roughly the same on the same body of water. A full electric spa should be kept at its required temperature consistently, if you keep turning the heat up and down the heater will run longer trying to heat a larger volume of water. If you keep it heated to the required temperature it should monitor the water and only heat on demand. If  it drops 1 degree it only has to heat up 1 degree costing lest electric heater time.

* Running savings may vary and are dependant depending on the ambient temperature outside.
